Five Question Friday 12/3/10

I try from time to time to do the Five Question Friday hosted by Mama M.  So on to today's questions.

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?
My husband would love to know this and since I know he reads this blog he will be be thrilled to know it now. I want . . . um . . . I don't know.  I have everything I need.  I do want a laminator but I asked my mom for that.  I will have to keep thinking on this one.

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?
I can think of two that are special to me.  The first one is a shirt my grandpa bought for me my freshman year of college.  My grandpa had bypass surgery that fall and was afraid he wouldn't make it.  He pulled through and that Christmas he helped my grandma shop for the grandkids.  He had never really done that before.  So, it is special that he picked it out.  He passed away 5 years ago and I miss him.  The other is a quilt my grandma on the other side of the family made for me.  She made us all so many quilts but this particular one is the last one she made for me. She turned 85 yesterday and is doing great but just not making quilts anymore.

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?
I am living my dream.  I am a mommy.  I have the joy everyday of being with my kids.  I love it.  I would choose this life again every single time.

4. When do you put up your tree?
Growing up it always went up the day after Thanksgiving.  For the most part I have followed that tradition.  Except for the past two years it has gone up the day before Thanksgiving.  Last year was due to my husband leaving on a missions trip to Kenya the day after Thanksgiving for 2 weeks.  And this year was because we were having company on Friday and I wanted it done before so up it went.

5. What is your favorite Holiday?
CHRISTMAS!!  I love the lights, the decorations, the snow, the tree, the nativity, the presents.  It is a most wonderful time of the year. I think I like it more now that my kids are understanding more about it. It is so fun to see it all through their eyes.

Well, there you go.  Head on over to Mama M's and check out the others posts for today's questions.
