Purposeful

I think it is time to get more purposeful in my preschool planning with Tiger Boy.  We have been loosely following a curriculum until now, but I think he is ready for more.  I am going to try to figure out more things to do with him this weekend.  I know I need to find things that hold his interest and are fun.  I want him to enjoy doing school and not just get it done.  Hopefully, by my spending more time with him on school he will learn and enjoy it at the same time.

Veggie Tales: Robin Good

Today I sat with my two big kids and watched Veggie Tales newest DVD.  It is called Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men.

About the show:

Theres no hurt too big for God! Robin Good has a mission - fundraising from the rich and giving to the poor! But when a greedy Prince starts stealing the townspeople’s hams, donations are down and Robin’s band of friends desert him to give robbing a try. Can Robin overcome his hurt, show his friends what’s right and restore the townspeople's hope? 

My thoughts:

I enjoyed this very much.  Once again Veggie Tales has done a great job in making a quality story for kids and adults to all enjoy. It tells of the importance of giving all our hurts over to God because he is always there for us.

Tiger Boy's Thoughts (age 4):

I liked it. I liked when Bob gave a ham to the monster.

Sugar Plum's Thoughts (age 6):

My favorite part was when the Prince was sleeping with his teddy bear and said Mama.  I learned that God never stops loving you and you can talk to God when you are sad.  I liked it a lot.

The DVD also features:An adorable short video starring Junior Asparagus: "Lenny and the Lost Birthday". Plays at the start of the show before the main feature.

Snow

As we went to bed last night it was snowing big fluffy white flakes.  This morning we work up to everything covered in the most beautiful white blanket of snow.  I am very anxious for spring and getting to be outside more but it sure is beautiful to look at.

3 kids is tough!

As I type this my new baby is hanging on me wrapped in my wonderful Moby wrap.  I love it and don't know how I survived having babies before without one.  Well, I suppose it could be that I only had 1 kid, then only 2.  But man, having 3 kids is tough.  I am amazed at how much harder it is to do everything.  I do not have enough hands to do it all.

We are adjusting well.  Super Baby (as we like to call him) will be 6 months old next week.  He is still up several times a night and refuses all pacifiers.  He makes me tired, but is so worth having.

School is fun and challenging.  Sugar Plum is half way through first grade and is doing great. She is becoming a better reader and is really excelling at math.  Tiger Boy is enjoying doing some preschool work with his cousin a few days a week but usually prefers to play instead of do school.  I don't push him too much on it right now.  Super Baby is rolling over, babbling "dada" and getting ready to start solid food soon.

So this is our life good, but busy.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed watching this movie. It is full of Veggie fun and humor that had me and my kids laughing. I like how it showed that by coming to Jesus you can find healing for your hurt and anger.  It also shows the importance of forgiveness.  I watched this with my 4 year old and 6 year old and they were both glused to the TV the entire time.  My daughter said "I liked when the boy saw Jesus."  My son said "I liked when they threw the money".  It is a great movie our family will enjoy watching over and over again.

Busy

I am not good at writing blog posts at all.  Since my last post I have been super busy. On Wednesday, August 17 I gave birth to our third baby.  Our second son was born and is doing great.  We started school when he was 3 weeks old.  Sugar Plum is doing well in first grade and Tiger Boy is loving preschool.

Also today is Sugar Plum's 6th birthday. We are taking the day off from school and celebrating together.
